Limestone and Marble begin as the same material. Marble is simply changed limestone, or to use the technical term, metamorphic limestone. Given enough heat and pressure, limestone will crystallize into marble. The crystal structure allows marble to take a polish, and bring out the color of the other trace elements. Limestone, not being crystallized, will not polish but can be honed. Allow one of our highly trained design consultants to help you select the right marble for your project.
